What You’ll Be Doing Day to Day
- Handling heavy laundry loads: You’ll safely move and transport 100kg+ loads using an overhead pulley system strength and care are both important here.
- Loading and operating industrial machines: You’ll work with commercial washers and dryers, making sure cycles run properly and efficiently.
- Performing physically demanding tasks: This role involves repetitive overhead reaching and pushing or pulling heavy loads throughout your shift.
- Entering data into the system: You’ll log garment weights into a computerised system so everything is tracked accurately.
- Folding with precision: Uniforms and linen need to be folded neatly and consistently—attention to detail matters.
- Inspecting for issues: You’ll check laundry for stains, damage, or wear and report anything that needs attention.
- Keeping your workspace clean: A tidy, organised laundry area helps everything run more smoothly.
- Working as part of a team: You’ll collaborate with others to make sure the work environment stays effective and productive.
What We’re Looking For
- Physical fitness to handle the demands of the job, including lifting up to 25kg regularly.
- Previous experience as a Laundry Assistant is preferred but not essential—if you’re fit and willing to learn, we want to hear from you.
- Reliability and punctuality shifts start early, and we need people who show up ready to work.
- The ability to work 38 hours per week with Saturday overtime available for those who want extra hours.
- Comfort working with industrial laundry equipment and following safety procedures.
- A team player attitude with the ability to work independently when needed.
What You’ll Get Out of It
- $30 to $31 per hour for your work.
- Monday to Friday shifts with start times at either 6am or 7am, giving you consistency throughout the week.
