Welder (Full-Time) New Zealand

Location & Work Type

• Location: Auckland, New Zealand
• Job Type: Full-time
• Shifts: 8-hour shifts, 30 to 45 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

• Read and understand work plans and drawings
• Cut, bend, and shape metal parts to the right size
• Weld metal parts together to build strong products
• Make jigs from wood or metal to hold parts in place while welding
• Fix and take care of welding tools and machines
• Build metal items by following written or spoken instructions
• Check finished work to make sure it meets quality standards
• Keep the work area clean and safe at all times

Qualifications/Skills

• At least 2 years of work experience as a welder
• Level 4 welding qualification or similar training
• Able to read and follow plans or technical drawings
• Good skills in cutting, bending, and welding metal
• Able to use welding machines and hand tools safely
• Strong focus on quality and paying attention to details
• Good teamwork and communication skills
• Able to work by yourself and finish tasks on time

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in welding or metal fabrication
• Experience reading and working from technical drawings
• Skilled in MIG, TIG, or stick welding methods
• Experience cutting, shaping, and joining metal parts
• Knowledge of how to use welding tools and machines
• Experience making and using jigs for welding work
• Able to follow safety rules in a workshop or job site
• Experience fixing and maintaining welding equipment

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay from $25.00 to $32.00 per hour, based on experience and skills
