Key Responsibilities
- Operate Class 5 trucks safely and efficiently for metro work and long haul operations across the North Island.
- Collect scrap metal from suppliers and deliver finished copper based ingot products to customers.
- Perform daily pre trip and post trip vehicle inspections to ensure all equipment is in safe working condition.
- Load and unload materials using hiab and other equipment as required, ensuring loads are secure and compliant with safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate driving logs, delivery records, and documentation for all trips.
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with suppliers and customers, representing the company with professionalism and reliability.
- Work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, maintaining a drug free workplace.
Qualifications
A clean, current New Zealand Class 5 driver’s licence is required. D and F endorsements, hiab experience, and gantry truck experience would be advantageous, though training is available for the right candidate. Candidates must be physically fit to handle the demands of the role, which includes loading and unloading materials. Strong supplier and customer focus is essential. A clean Ministry of Justice check is required, and candidates must be able to pass a pre employment drug and medical test. Clear communication skills and the ability to work unsupervised are essential. Candidates must have permanent work rights in New Zealand.
