Job Title

Refractory Labourer

Responsibilities

• Help break out old refractory material at the steel mill.
• Lend a hand to bricklayers setting up new linings for ladles.
• Shift tools and materials to keep the job moving.
• Tidy up the worksite to keep it safe and sharp.
• Follow the site boss’s directions for quality results.
• Pitch in on demolition and cleanup for refractory tasks.
• Load gear and supplies for daily work.
• Team up with mates or go solo when needed.
• Spot safety risks and report them on the spot.
• Keep tools in good nick with basic checks.
• Stick to strict safety rules at Glenbrook.
• Assist with spraying linings on tundishes and launders.
• Track tasks and materials used each shift.
• Jump in on other site jobs to hit deadlines.
• Get stuck into training for a shot at an apprenticeship.

Requirements

Education

• No formal schooling needed; trade certs are a bonus.
• Valid Driver’s Licence and own transport required.

Experience

Some time spent in construction or heavy industry is ideal.
