Job Title

Labourer – J Mac SEQ

Responsibilities

As a Labourer with the J Mac SEQ division, your day-to-day work will involve a mix of the following:

• Helping out with general site labouring and landscaping tasks
• Assisting with drainage installation and earthworks
• Using hand tools and power tools under supervision
• Setting up site safety barriers and temporary structures
• Following orders from supervisors and examining basic site plans
• Keeping the work space clean and safe
• Lifting, excavating, and prepping materials as needed
• Reporting any safety risks or equipment malfunctions straight away
• Supporting tradesmen and working closely with the site team to accomplish project milestones
• Handling goods and aiding with on-site delivery
• Being part in daily safety briefings and toolbox lectures
• Pitching in wherever required to help the team achieve top-quality work

Requirements and Qualifications

Education

• Certificate III in Civil Construction or a recognised equivalent.
• A valid White Card (Construction Induction Card) is a must.

Experience

Experience in civil construction or labouring is a plus, but not mandatory

Skills

• Comfortable using tools and working with machinery
• Good eye for detail and task completion
• Fit enough for outdoor, physical work
• Strong team player who communicates well
• Always punctual, reliable, and ready to work
• Focused on maintaining high safety standards

Knowledge

• Basic knowledge of how construction sites operate
• Understanding of safety procedures and site rules
• Ability to read simple site drawings and follow directions
