Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the team manager, you’ll be responsible for a variety of duties that keep public spaces clean, safe, and welcoming.
- Perform rubbish collection and disposal across public areas, ensuring bins are emptied and waste is properly managed.
- Clean and maintain public amenities including barbeques, bus stops, and public bathrooms to high standards of hygiene and presentation.
- Conduct general maintenance tasks as required to keep facilities in good working order.
- Work outdoors in a physically active role, moving between sites across the Whangamata region.
- Follow all health and safety procedures, adhering to company policies and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standard.
Schedule
- Duration: Fixed term until mid-April (supporting Summer Peak season)
- Days: Saturday to Tuesday
- Hours: Guaranteed hours each week, with the possibility of increasing based on operational demands
Qualifications and Experience
We’re looking for someone with a strong work ethic, a love for the outdoors, and a commitment to safety. Previous experience is preferred but not essential what matters most is your willingness to learn and get stuck in.
Essential Requirements:
- A full, clean driver’s licence with the ability to drive a manual vehicle.
- The desire to work in an outdoor, physical role a good level of fitness is required.
- A high health and safety awareness with a commitment to adhering to company policies and procedures.
- An awesome work ethic, self-motivation, and the ability to work well within a team.
- In accordance with our Drug & Alcohol Policy, the successful applicant will be required to undergo and pass a pre-employment drug test.
Preferred (But Not Essential):
- Previous experience in a similar role or environment.
