Terrigal Laundrette is looking for a motivated Part-Time Laundry Assistant to join our team here in Terrigal, NSW 2260. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be sorting, washing, drying, folding, and ironing customer laundry including linen for local holiday accommodation. What You’ll Be Doing Day to Day
- Sorting customer laundry: You’ll go through incoming items, separating by colour, fabric type, and care instructions.
- Washing and drying: You’ll load and operate commercial washers and dryers, making sure cycles are set correctly for each load.
- Folding and ironing: You’ll handle items with care, folding and pressing them to a high standard so they’re ready for pickup or delivery.
- Handling holiday accommodation linen: A good portion of the work involves linen for local holiday rentals sheets, towels, and more need to be pristine.
- Helping customers: You’ll assist with inquiries at the counter, answer questions, and make sure people feel welcome when they drop off or pick up.
- Maintaining equipment: You’ll keep an eye on washers, dryers, and other machines, reporting any issues so they can be addressed quickly.
- A tidy, organised laundrette makes for a better experience—you’ll help keep everything in order.
- Restocking supplies: You’ll make sure detergent, bags, and other essentials are always on hand.
- Following safety procedures: You’ll work within health and safety guidelines to protect yourself and everyone around you.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in laundry or customer service is preferred but not essential if you’re willing to learn, we’re willing to train.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently without cutting corners.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills you’ll be dealing with customers face to face.
- Willingness to learn and adapt as things change throughout the day.
- The ability to work as part of a team and contribute to a positive environment.
- Reliability and punctuality we need people who show up when they’re scheduled.
- Your own transport to get to and from Terrigal for your shifts.
