Australia Post is looking for a Van Driver to join our team in Redbank on a 6-month fixed-term contract. In this part-time role, you’ll be at the heart of daily operations, picking up and delivering mail and parcels across the region. Working alongside experienced drivers, you’ll enjoy the independence of the road while being part of a trusted, supportive team. Key Responsibilities
You’ll be an essential link in the postal network, ensuring mail flows smoothly from collection to the next stage of its journey.
- Safely operate a Australia Post van to perform scheduled pick-ups from Street Posting Boxes, Corporate Offices, Licensed Post Offices, and Delivery Centres.
- Collect mail and parcel items directly from customers at various pick-up points.
- Unload and manually sort collected mail into categories (small-large letters, parcels, express posts) at the depot.
- Conduct daily vehicle safety checks and maintain the van in a clean, presentable condition.
- Work autonomously on your route while being a cooperative team player, supported by and learning from our senior drivers.
- Interact professionally and courteously with the public and business customers.
Qualifications
We are looking for reliable individuals who meet our safety and operational requirements.
- A full or probationary Australian driver’s licence is mandatory.
- The ability to successfully pass our mandatory practical driving assessment.
- Flexibility to work additional hours if required.
- Excellent attention to detail, a good memory, and the physical capability to regularly lift mail and parcels up to 16kg.
- For safety reasons, you must be able to meet our safe working load limit of weighing 130kg or less.
