Responsibilities

• Drive the Trust’s van safely, sticking to NZ road rules.
• Get elderly clients to doctor visits, talanoa sessions, or events.
• Lend a hand to folks with walkers or mobility needs getting on and off.
• Check the van each day to make sure it’s good to go.
• Keep the van clean as a whistle, inside and out.
• Let the team know quick if the van needs a fix.
• Have a yarn with clients, making them feel at ease.
• Roll with last-minute changes to pickups or routes.
• Jot down trip details and who’s been picked up.
• Keep clients safe and happy while on the road.
• Stick to the Trust’s way of doing things with respect.
• Chip in with community program tasks when needed.
• Stay calm if something urgent pops up on the road.
• Know Hamilton’s streets like the back of your hand.
• Toss in ideas to make transport run better.

Requirements

1-2 years behind the wheel of a van or similar.
