Location & Work Type

  • Work Type: On-site only – must operate trucks from company facilities and complete trips across provinces and borders.
  • Location: Based in Ontario, with routes across Canada and the United States.
  • Remote Work: Not available. This is a fully on-site driving position.

Key Responsibilities

As a Truck Driver – Long Haul at D4 Logistics, you’ll be responsible for safe, efficient, and customer-focused transportation of goods.

Driving & Transportation

  • Operate straight or articulated trucks to transport freight across local, provincial, and international routes.
  • Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections to ensure truck and trailer safety.
  • Oversee vehicle condition including tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other vital systems.

Cargo Handling & Security

  • Load and unload cargo with care, ensuring goods are secure and protected.
  • Use tarping, strapping, and other tools to meet safety and legal standards.
  • Record cargo details, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel usage.

Route & Navigation

  • Plan and adjust travel routes using GPS and route optimization software to reduce fuel use and emissions.
  • Obtain and manage permits and documentation for cross-border transport.

Customer Service & Reporting

  • Maintain professionalism when dealing with customers, dispatchers, and fellow drivers.
  • Address customer concerns with patience and courtesy.
  • Relay real-time information to central dispatch for better coordination.

Maintenance & Emergency Response

  • Perform routine maintenance and emergency roadside repairs as needed.
  • Keep logs updated for compliance and performance tracking.

Must-Have Qualifications

We’re looking for a reliable, safe, and customer-focused driver with the following:

  • Valid Class 1 (or A) Driver’s License
  • Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)
  • 7 months to 1 year of commercial driving experience
  • Strong understanding of Canadian and U.S. highway regulations
  • Ability to perform physical tasks (loading/unloading cargo)
  • Professionalism and clear communication skills
