Key Responsibilities
As an Asset Protection Associate, you will be the frontline of our store’s security and loss prevention efforts. Your primary duties will include:
- Conducting daily patrols and inspections of the facility to ensure all security measures, doors, and showcases are functioning properly.
- Investigating instances of suspected financial and physical loss (shrink), documenting findings, and communicating effectively with store leadership.
- Supporting internal and external investigations as assigned, including matters related to theft and organized retail crime.
- Taking appropriate, lawful action, including making external arrests when necessary and in compliance with all policies and legislation.
- Assisting with store emergency procedures, such as evacuations in case of fire or other incidents.
- Maintaining a professional presence and demonstrating positive behavior at all times to deter theft and ensure a safe shopping environment.
Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A valid provincial Security Guard License is a mandatory requirement.
- Strong observational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting and liaising with management and law enforcement.
- A high degree of integrity, professionalism, and discretion when handling sensitive information.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced retail setting.
- Physical ability to patrol the store for extended periods and respond to incidents.
