Key Responsibilities
As a Post Office Assistant, you will be at the center of daily community connections. Your core duties will ensure smooth postal operations and excellent customer service:
- Provide friendly and efficient counter service, assisting customers with retail purchases, shipping, and postal inquiries.
- Process, sort, and organize incoming and outgoing mail and parcels accurately for distribution.
- Offer clear information and guidance to customers regarding postal products, services, and forms.
- Help resolve customer questions or delivery concerns promptly and professionally.
- Maintain a secure and organized work environment while handling cash transactions.
Qualifications
We are looking for a dependable individual who meets the following essential criteria:
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is required for this position (Bilingual Imperative –BB).
- A high school diploma or provincial equivalency is required. Previous experience in a public-facing retail or service role, including cash handling, is a strong asset.
- The role requires the ability to lift items up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and sort mail.
- Must have flexibility for temporary, on-call work assignments. Residing in or near the communities of North Hatley or Waterville is ideal; applicants within a 50 km radius may be considered.
- Must successfully complete a security screening process as part of the selection.
