Location & Work Type

  • Location: Offshore, Singapore
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Shifts: Rotating shifts, typically 14 days on and 14 days off

Key Responsibilities

The Offshore Electrician will be in charge of keeping all electrical systems on the vessel working well and safe. This includes fixing, maintaining, and checking equipment every day.

  • Carry out maintenance and repairs on electrical and electronic equipment on board
  • Support safe operation of all vessel electrical systems
  • Work closely with the Engineering Department to solve electrical problems
  • Follow safety rules and company policies at all times
  • Help with modifications and upgrades to ship equipment as needed
  • Inspect electrical systems regularly to prevent issues
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs
  • Assist in testing new electrical equipment before use

Qualifications/Skills

  • Completed an apprenticeship or training program that meets STCW Code Section A-III/6
  • Experience in maintaining and repairing electrical systems on ships or vessels
  • Knowledge of electrical and electronic equipment used in offshore vessels
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and manuals
  • Strong problem-solving skills to fix electrical issues quickly
  • Good teamwork and communication skills to work with the Engineering Department
  • Commitment to following safety rules and procedures at all times
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts and stay offshore for long periods

Required Experience

  • Experience working as an electrician on ships or offshore vessels
  • Skilled in maintaining and repairing electrical and electronic systems
  • Knowledge of ship equipment and safety standards in the offshore industry
  • Experience following safety rules and procedures while working offshore
  • Ability to work well with a team in a busy and sometimes challenging environment
  • Experience using tools and equipment for electrical repairs and maintenance
  • Proven track record of completing tasks on time and with attention to detail
