Key Responsibilities

  • Drive straight or tractor-trailer trucks to transport goods across local, national, and international routes
  • Load and unload cargo carefully to prevent damage
  • Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections to make sure the vehicle is safe and working well
  • Adjust brakes and handle minor truck maintenance when needed
  • Record trip details like hours driven, distance traveled, and fuel used
  • Use a CB radio and trip recorder to communicate with dispatch and track trips
  • Follow all rules for transporting dangerous goods safely
  • Help address customer concerns or complaints in a professional way
  • Work well as part of a team, including driving in convoys when required

Qualifications/Skills

  • Valid Class 1 or A driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Air Brake (Z) Endorsement is required to operate trucks safely
  • At least 2 years of experience driving straight or tractor-trailer trucks on long and short routes
  • Good knowledge of how to load and unload cargo without causing damage
