Location & Work Type

  • Location: Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada – a bustling hub in the heart of the oil sands
  • Job type: Full-time
  • Shifts: 12-hour days (paid for 11.5 hours), dayshift
  • Schedules: 14 days on, 14 days off
  • Salary type: Hourly

Key Responsibilities

  • Bundle materials in the heavy equipment yard to get them ready for transport.
  • Help load and unload trucks with a third-party contractor to keep things moving.
  • Escort and support trucks to ensure safe and smooth operations.
  • Unpack and set up the equipment yard at new locations for efficient work.
  • Operate medium-sized loaders (L90-960) safely to move materials around the site.
  • Follow instructions carefully to keep the mining site safe and organized.
  • Check equipment daily to make sure it’s ready for action.

Requirements

  • Must-Have Skills
  • Show your experience running medium-sized loaders (L90-960) to move materials safely.
  • Know how to handle material transport, both loading and unloading, to keep things smooth.
  • Stay focused and follow safety instructions to keep the site accident-free.
  • Speak and write English well to communicate clearly with the team.
  • Have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License to get around the site.
  • Bring a safety-first mindset to protect yourself and others every day.
  • Preferred Skills
  • Past work on a mining site is a bonus, but NACG can train you.
  • A high school diploma or GED is great, but not required.
  • Comfort working in busy areas shows you can handle the action.
  • Training is available to help you grow into the role.
