Key Responsibilities

You will be on the front line, ensuring our rural roadsides are clean, safe, and presentable.

  • Conduct scheduled litter collection along designated rural roads in West and North Auckland, removing loose litter, illegally dumped items, and roadkill.
  • Work as part of a close-knit team during monthly travel stints, spending one week at a time working on rural roads north of Auckland.
  • Adhere strictly to all health and safety protocols while working near live traffic and handling various types of waste.
  • Utilise provided technology, such as smartphones and reporting systems, to log work and communicate with the team.
  • Maintain a positive, safety-first attitude while performing this physically demanding but essential community service.

Qualifications

We are looking for a reliable, safety-conscious individual who meets the practical requirements of the role.

  • A full driver’s licence with the ability to drive a manual vehicle is essential.
  • Excellent physical fitness and the ability to handle demanding outdoor work in all weather conditions.
  • A strong awareness of health and safety and a commitment to following all company policies and procedures.
  • Comfort using basic technology (smartphones, apps) for work purposes.
  • Self-motivation, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be willing and able to travel monthly for one-week periods, staying away from home.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is ideal but not essential.
