You’ll be responsible for selecting product assortments, developing supplier relationships, and managing everything from cost control to warehousing solutions. What You’ll Be Doing

  • Select Product Assortments: You’ll use your knowledge of fresh produce especially fruits and vegetables from Malaysia, Thailand, and the region to choose the right products for different business scenarios. What works for a hotel might not work for a wet market stall, and you’ll know the difference.
  • Source and Develop New Products: Leverage your strong knowledge of wholesale markets and supplier networks to independently source new products that meet our procurement targets. You’ll be out there finding the best options before anyone else does.
  • Build and Manage Supplier Portfolios: Develop strong relationships with suppliers, manage those portfolios effectively, and control procurement costs to keep our retail pricing competitive without sacrificing quality.
  • Develop Warehousing and Distribution Solutions: Different produce has different needs. You’ll work on warehousing and distribution solutions tailored to each product’s characteristics, helping minimise loss and wastage from farm to customer.
  • Monitor Market Trends: Keep a close eye on what’s happening in the market—prices, availability, new varieties and adjust purchase and selling prices accordingly.
  • Formulate Promotional Plans: Work with the team to develop promotions and set sales and profit targets for the categories you manage. You’ll own the numbers and be accountable for the results.

Job Requirements

  • 4-5 Years Procurement Experience: You’ve spent at least 4-5 years in procurement, ideally with fresh produce. Strong local supplier networks in Singapore are a significant advantage.
  • End-to-End Procurement Knowledge: You’re familiar with the whole process price negotiation, order management, accounts handling, and ongoing supplier development. You know how to get things done from start to finish.
  • Data Analysis Skills: You’re comfortable with numbers and can analyse data to make informed decisions. Strong computer proficiency is expected.
  • Excellent Communication and Coordination: You’ll work across functions with sales, operations, and logistics so being able to communicate clearly and coordinate effectively is essential.
  • Positive Work Attitude: This role requires hard work and adaptability. You’re positive, resilient, and willing to put in overtime when the situation demands it.
  • Results-Driven: You’re not just going through the motions. You’re focused on execution and achieving targets.
