Key Responsibilities

  • Build and install electrical systems needed for rocket launches.
  • Test and check equipment to make sure it works properly.
  • Fix electrical problems quickly to keep launch schedules on track.
  • Work closely with engineers and other technicians to support launch activities.
  • Follow detailed drawings and instructions to complete tasks accurately.
  • Help maintain backup power systems like generators and UPS units.
  • Use computer programs to monitor and troubleshoot electrical systems.
  • Stay calm and make good decisions when working under pressure during launches.

Requirements

  • Must-Have Skills
  • A current New Zealand electrical license with no restrictions
  • Good at finding and fixing electrical problems
  • Able to read and understand detailed drawings and instructions
  • Comfortable using computers and basic programming
  • Able to work well in a team and stay calm under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail and able to follow safety rules
  • Preferred Skills
  • Experience in commercial or industrial electrical work
  • Knowledge of instrumentation and control systems
  • Skills with data systems and equipment
  • Experience maintaining generators and UPS systems
  • Understanding of fluid systems like pneumatics or hydraulics
  • First Aid qualification
  • Training can be provided for these preferred skills
