 Your Key Responsibilities

You will be the on-site leader, responsible for the day-to-day execution and safety of drainage operations. Your duties will include:

  • Assisting the Supervisor with planning, setting out, and coordinating daily site activities for the drainage crew.
  • Directly supervising all aspects of drainage work, including trenching, pipe laying, backfilling, and connections.
  • Championing health and safety on site, maintaining all related documentation, and fostering a proactive safety culture.
  • Providing hands-on mentorship, training, and guidance to team members.
  • Operating machinery (with relevant tickets) or assisting with tools as required to support the crew and meet deadlines.
  • Reporting on progress, resource needs, and any site issues to the Supervisor.

The Skills

We are looking for a leader who combines practical trade mastery with strong people skills. Our ideal candidate has:

  • Relevant industry experience and qualifications in drainage and civil construction.
  • Proven experience leading and supervising crews on civil sites.
  • Experience in the operation of relevant plant, and holding a Class 2 licence and WTR.
  • Excellent planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and motivate a team.
  • A relentless focus on health, safety, and quality.
  • A collaborative, team-player attitude.
