Location & Work Type

  • Location: Logan Village, Queensland, Australia (on-site at resort development sites)
  • Job Type: Full-time, permanent position
  • Shifts: Standard working hours with occasional flexibility to meet project deadlines

What Will You Do?

  • Weld and assemble steel frames, beams, supports, and other structural components based on project requirements
  • Fabricate custom metal parts in the workshop and on-site as needed
  • Operate MIG and Stick welding equipment with precision and attention to safety standards
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, technical plans, and welding symbols to guide your work
  • Work alongside carpenters, site supervisors, and other trades to meet daily and weekly build targets
  • Follow QA Build’s construction schedules and adjust work pace to align with project milestones
  • Inspect and test completed welds to ensure structural soundness and compliance with building codes
  • Maintain tools, welding machines, and personal protective equipment in good working condition
  • Keep a clean, safe work environment and comply with all site-specific safety procedures and regulations


Must-Have Skills

To succeed in this role, you’ll need the following qualifications, experience, and attributes:

  • Trade qualification in Welding or Metal Fabrication
  • Minimum 2 years of welding experience in residential or commercial construction
  • Proven ability to weld steel frames, supports, and structural components
  • Solid understanding of welding techniques, including MIG and Stick welding
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, technical plans, and weld symbols
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety and quality workmanship
  • Current White Card (Construction Induction Certificate
  • Valid Australian driver’s license and reliable personal transport
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
  • Physically fit and able to work in outdoor, site-based environments

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working on resort-style or lifestyle community developments
  • Workshop fabrication experience and use of basic metalworking tools
  • Familiarity with QA Build’s project locations or southeast Queensland construction sites
  • Ability to adapt to changing site priorities or multi-trade collaboration
  • Forklift license or other relevant site machinery endorsements
