What Will You Do?
As a Cement Unloader, your core responsibility is to support the smooth unloading of cement cargo from vessels using specialized equipment. You will:
- Operate cement unloader machines effectively and safely during vessel discharge
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to manage bulk cement unloading
- Maintain a clean and safe work area on board vessels and at the terminal
- Use mobile devices or tablets to input cargo handling information
- Assist with general cargo operations when needed
- Communicate clearly with supervisors and teammates to ensure coordinated workflows
- Adhere strictly to workplace safety standards and equipment protocols
This is physically active work that may include climbing ladders, working at heights, and performing repetitive lifting or machine handling tasks.
Requirements: Must-Have Skills
This entry-level role is suitable for candidates with no prior port or cargo experience. We are looking for:
- Willingness to work on 12-hour rotating shifts, including nights and weekends
- Basic spoken and written English to follow instructions and safety guidelines
- A good level of physical fitness and comfort working in outdoor environments
- Basic digital literacy to input information using a mobile device or tablet
- A strong sense of responsibility, teamwork, and punctuality
- Compliance with all safety and operational rules
Preferred Skills
While not mandatory, the following will be helpful:
- Prior experience in cargo handling, construction, or heavy machinery
- Familiarity with port or logistics operations
- Basic knowledge of workplace safety practices
