Bunker Operator – Asia Pacific
Responsibilities
- Handle daily bunker ops for fuel oil and gas oil, from contracts to delivery.
- Schedule nominations and vetting to keep things running smooth.
- Log data like volumes, dates, and costs in the trading system.
- Alert traders to schedule changes for hedging risks.
- Manage barge turns and BOU to cut oil loss and costs.
- Build ties with ship operators and coordinate with port folks.
- Track and update bunker claims for quality, quantity, and demurrage.
- Keep economic stats and KPIs for barge freighting up to date.
- Swap portfolios with other operators to handle peak loads.
- Update bunker operation procedures to stay sharp.
- Pitch in on renewable fuel projects with the team.
- Coordinate with suppliers, agents, and clients for smooth deliveries.
- Report any quantity issues to traders for quick fixes.
- Share HSE findings, like near misses or spill actions.
- Join team huddles for business and strategy reviews.
Requirements
Education
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in maritime business or related field.
- Certifications in bunkering or shipping ops a bonus.
Experience
1–3 years in bunkering, trading, or shipping operations.
Skills
