Key Responsibilities
In this varied role, you will be essential to the delivery of council’s works program. Your key duties will include:
- Safely and efficiently operating a backhoe (LB class) for a range of construction, maintenance, and repair tasks.
- Performing general labouring duties to support the infrastructure team across various worksites.
- Assisting with the operation of other road-making plant and equipment as required.
- Working collaboratively within a team to complete projects on time and to specification.
- Adhering to all Workplace Health & Safety procedures and traffic management plans to ensure a safe worksite for yourself and others.
- Undertaking minor maintenance and pre-start checks on plant and equipment.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications:
- A Certificate of Competency for Backhoe (LB class).
- A current Queensland Class ‘C’ Driver’s Licence.
- A Queensland Construction White Card (General Safety Induction).
Candidates with the following will be highly regarded:
- Proven experience operating heavy vehicles in a construction or maintenance environment.
- Experience operating other road-making plant.
- An Implement Traffic Management Plans (ITMP) qualification and/or Traffic Controller Competence.
