Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be essential to our daily operations, working collaboratively to ensure safe and efficient train movements. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with all aspects of freight haulage in strict accordance with SSR policies and procedures.
- Preparing, provisioning, and inspecting locomotives and wagons prior to operations.
- Performing in-field minor fault repairs and failure rectifications to maintain service continuity.
- Assisting rolling-stock maintainers with validation checks and maintenance tasks to ensure all systems are safe and effective.
- Upholding the highest standards of professional conduct with a relentless focus on safety and customer service.
- Managing risks and adhering to all processes with the objective of achieving zero injuries.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate and provide evidence of the following:
- A Certificate IV in Rail Operations, with details of successfully attained units of competency.
- Current or previous NSW Safeworking Qualifications.
- Evidence of your route qualifications and or relevant experience.
- A current Category 1 Rail Safety Workers Medical or the willingness to obtain one immediately.
- A current National Police Check or the willingness to obtain one.
- A high level of literacy, numeracy, and comprehension skills.
- An unwavering commitment to a safety culture, professionalism, reliability, and a positive, customer-focused “can-do” attitude.
