Key Responsibilities
- Take guest orders using seat numbers and appropriate order taking sheets, then enter them accurately into the POS system
- Familiarise yourself with all menus including breakfast, lunch, dinner, lounge, wine, and beverage lists
- Perform food and beverage preparation duties such as preparing condiments, brewing coffee, and stocking work stations
- Serve food and beverages to guests while informing them of daily specials and recommending wine pairings
- Check guest identification to ensure minimum age requirement for alcoholic beverage consumption
- Remove dishes, glasses, silverware, and other items from tables and take them to the kitchen for proper sanitation
- Clean tables, counters, and seats after guests finish, then reset the dining room according to meal period needs
- Address any guest issue promptly and with concern, then monitor assigned tables for customer satisfaction
- Prepare guest bills accurately and ensure correct payment is received, then report tips and shift times properly
Qualifications
You must be authorized to work in the United States and be at least 18 years of age. The ability to read, write, and speak English is required. Prior hospitality experience is preferred, with at least one year of food and beverage experience ideal. You need excellent communication and listening skills, a professional appearance, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment. A South Carolina ServSafe Alcohol Certification is required or you must be able to obtain it upon hire. A flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
