Supervisor, Laundry Wanted In Canada

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

  • Monitor daily laundry production levels and quality standards, ensuring all processed items meet establishment specifications for cleanliness, pressing, folding, and presentation.
  • Coordinate activities with other work units and departments housekeeping, food and beverage, front office to ensure timely delivery of linens and guest laundry.
  • Arrange for maintenance and repair of laundry equipment, reporting malfunctions and coordinating with technicians to minimize downtime.
  • Prepare and submit progress reports, production records, and incident documentation to management.
  • Be the primary point of contact for handling emergency situations within the laundry department, including equipment failures, staffing shortages, or guest urgent requests.

Administration

  • Maintain accurate records of production volumes, staff hours, chemical usage, and equipment maintenance.
  • Assist with inventory management of linens, uniforms, and consumables, communicating replenishment needs to management.
  • Perform other duties consistent with the role as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Other trades certificate or diploma in a related field (laundry, hospitality, housekeeping, or textile care), OR equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • 1 year to less than 2 years of relevant experience in laundry operations, housekeeping supervision, or hospitality support services.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising staff and coordinating departmental activities.

Technical Skills:

  • Thorough knowledge of commercial laundry equipment operation, including washers, dryers, steam presses, and folding machines.
  • Understanding of fabric care requirements, stain treatment, and finishing techniques.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations, infection control protocols, and chemical handling procedures.
  • Basic computer skills for reporting and inventory tracking.
