Location and Work Type

  • Position Title: Light Duty Cleaner
  • Site Location: Etobicoke, Ontario
  • Work Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
  • Employment Type: Full-Time
  • Hourly Wage: $17.30 CAD

What Will You Do?

As a Light Duty Cleaner, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day upkeep of residential buildings and common areas. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Cleaning restrooms and replenishing supplies
  • Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors and stairways
  • Emptying trash and waste containers
  • Dusting blinds, furniture, door frames, railings, and other surfaces
  • Polishing metalwork, chrome fixtures, and wood furniture
  • Washing windows, walls, mirrors, and ceilings using ladders as needed
  • Removing debris from exterior areas like parking lots and grounds
  • Notifying supervisors of any maintenance or safety concerns
  • Using powered equipment like vacuums and floor buffers
  • Following health and safety protocols at all times

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Knowledge of general cleaning practices and janitorial tools
  • Familiarity with safe use of cleaning agents and equipment
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions independently
  • Strong observation skills for identifying safety risks or repairs
  • Physical stamina for tasks that involve standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods
  • Comfort working indoors and outdoors, including exposure to cleaning chemicals and occasional unpleasant odors
  • Awareness of building security protocols and property access rules

Preferred Skills

  • Previous experience in a residential, commercial, or hospitality cleaning role
  • Ability to operate janitorial tools (e.g., buffers, vacuums, floor polishers)
  • Understanding of workplace safety and WHMIS regulations
  • Excellent time management and task prioritization
  • Clear communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
